Rue Neuve in Brussels is the shopping street. People just keep passing by.

I am home, not back to the roots but in the place I was born, lived for 2.5 decades. Things are changing. Life is like the paint on the building. Does it matter what the new color is? I can still see the aged paint…
For the first time in years I have not brought my Lubitel or any other analogue camera with me. I will not have much time to do any photography in the next days anyway.

Rainy days in Brussels. Occupied with a lot of work these days but not complaining. Photo from this morning love that sidewalk next to Blv. General Jacques.

This was the last shot from Poznan. A city that I discovered with my Lubitel. I have many street art photos as well. Soon I will be uploading to Flickr.

Fresh from this afternoon. Brussels, a lazy sunny summer day. They were about to replace the giant advertisement screen panels in place debrouckere. A lot ogreof people were waiting to do photography. Not me.
Still nothing new, I stayed home yesterday. Busy with some family work. Today I will leave first for Akmerkez and then to Ortakoy to visit my aunt. The photoset below are from June, during my walk in the outskirts of Sariyer and also in the Rumeli Kavagi.
I hate the shiny adds of new housing projects that are popping out like sick mushrooms in the city. People are pouring their money to live in a-like building complexes. Artificial is the adjective to describe this way of living and standards is the value many seek. I donot want to care but they destroy the spirit of the city. Urban architecture has its own roots in the outskirts of the city. Here above and below are some examples.
Football scandal is on the agenda in Turkey. I will never get the interest in football. In Turkey you will find two things in any place you go: football stadium and mosque. I do not want any of them.
A lazy summer afternoon means leaving your bike aside and running to the ice-cream shop.
I remember our ride to the summer house. Turning the curve to enter the village when we see the blue Aegean sea. There were plastic summer toys and gadgets to help you swim. Here in Rumeli Kavagi I got the same feeling.
Its been years since I have not played hang man. This city, country hangs man. There is no room or tolerance for freedom. I hate it despite the beauty Istanbul offers.
People, they keep passing by and they do not care much…
Is becoming old a privilege or a burden? None my parents had the chance to become old.
How long, how long
Until I see you?
And when, and when does
The light come shining through?
Remember days when we were so young and
Remember days when we were so young and
We were so young and old
I like the street photography and many times I am too late to capture the moment. This is the case when it comes to children.
I just want a busy life, occupying my self with the things I enjoy. Just like the fisherman of Istanbul.
Farewell is the word that I will not say, at least not for today.
