It is the best day of the year, the doomsday. The 2012 phenomenon comprised a range of eschatological beliefs according to which cataclysmic or transformative events would occur around 21 December 2012.This date was regarded as the end-date of a 5125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae have been proposed as pertaining to this date, though none has been accepted by mainstream scholarship.
Well in Belgium you can celebrate the end of the world in a big party.
Cultural agenda in Brussels is very dense. Summer time concerts at halls such as Ancienne Belgique or Botanique stop but festivals keep running. So you have to place poster on poster.
Already for long time I had my day ticket to the Cactus Festival in Brugge. I was hoping to enjoy Explosions in The Sky. Today I learned that due to family member illness they are cancelling their European tour. It is sad.
The Festival of contemporary music in Belgium was founded in 1989, initiated by a bunch of music lovers …
In the two decades of its existence it became one of the reference festivals in Europe.
The concerts take place in March, each year. The bulk of the concerts happen in Brussels where Ars Musica is based, yet concerts also take place in Antwerp, Bruges, Liège and Mons. Altogether over 50 concerts and events for an audience of about 20.000 people.
I was at the Dunk Festival yesterday. For post rock lovers this is rather an unknown festival with impressive line-up.
