Masist Gül (1947-2003) an extraordinary artist with a strong physics produced a large amount of collages, drawings and poetry. During the 80′s he created a series of 6 comic books with the title Kaldırım Destanı – Kaldırımlar Kurdunun hayatı / Pavement Myth – The Life of the Pavement’s Wolf. Made by hand using a periodical comic-book format was exhibited for the first time in Istanbul at BAS in 2006. Later on exhibitions were held in Brussels and in Berlin. Comic books were also published from the originals in 2006. In my last visit to Istanbul I have been to the second exhibition of Masist Gül and finally bought the first volume of the Pavement Myth. I loved it. So now in my next visit I will get the remaining volumes.
